Sustainability concept

Environmentally conscious, sustainable practice management is important to us in University Outpatient Clinic.

Sustainable equipment

When furnishing the outpatient clinic, we took care to be as environmentally friendly and resource-saving as possible. The linoleum flooring chosen, for example, consists of linseed oil, cork and jute.

As far as possible, the furniture was sourced from the University Hospital of Cologne's stock.

We also opted for refurbished medical equipment where available. The staff kitchen is equipped with crockery from stock.

Saving energy

Instead of energy-intensive air conditioning technology, external shading was installed for hot periods. We also make sure that unused appliances are switched off completely and that the radiator thermostats are turned down at night and at weekends. Where it makes sense, the lighting is motion-dependent and controlled by timers, for example in storage and changing rooms.

Digitalization and process optimization

In order to reduce consumables to a necessary minimum, we rely on digitalization and process optimization. As a "pilot practice" at Cologne University Hospital, we are one of the first departments to implement digital solutions and test their practical suitability.

Waste management

Waste cannot be completely avoided in a medical practice. We ensure that raw materials can be recycled through consistent separation.
