The Institute of General Practice participates in the North Rhine Competence Center for General Practice (KWNo) in order to promote the quality and efficiency of further training in general practice and to support young specialist doctors on their way to becoming general practitioners.

The KWNo is an association of the North Rhine Medical Association (ÄkNo), the North Rhine Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (KVNO), the North Rhine-Westphalia Hospital Association (KGNW) and the five institutions for general medicine at the universities in North Rhine.

The KWNo regularly offers local free seminars and mentoring programs for resident doctors in the North Rhine region.
